Receives Gratefully - Prayer

We receive God’s gifts gratefully by giving thanks to God and we express that thanks through prayer and worship.  Examples of that include the ultimate prayer of thanksgiving – the Eucharistic Prayer, many of the psalms are good examples of prayers praising and thanking God for wonderful deeds and gifts, and many other prayers.   Parishes should look at encouraging prayer of thanksgiving as an act of stewardship at home (maybe reprinting the weekends psalm in the bulletin or sharing another stewardship prayer) at parish meetings by supplying stewardship prayers to parish consultative bodies on a regular basis (they are always looking) and reminding parishioners to be more regularly conscious to give thanks to God throughout the day.  Resources to do this are available to ICSC members.
